Abstract Art / 2023

This is a 3-dimensional sketch, which I focused on creating by cross hatching. Playing around the forms, I thought it would be more interesting if I made them appear to float rather than sketching them in a conventional way. This artwork aims to show that different ideas can be connected into one by being innovative. From the way the forms are arranged together, to how some connect with each other and last by not least the positioning of the light source. All these factors are considered when creating an interesting sketch.

The challenge I faced was mostly the proportion and the drawing of the individual objects. Because they’re intertwined, it took some time for me to figure out their positions, whether they belong to the midground or foreground. Getting through the difficult challenges and finishing this piece means that I’m capable. As long as we put in our best effort, don’t get dejected, we will always rise up to be successful. Human nature is amazing and should take on challenges to improve ourselves.
